The Secret Garden Ball
The Hospice of St Francis is a charity that provides free, expert care for people living with life-limiting illnesses in West Herts and South Bucks, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or socio-economic background. The Hospice relies on voluntary donations from the local community to raise 80% of over £5 million needed annually to fund their free care.
The Diamond Trust is one of the founding corporate partners of The Hospice of St Francis. We count it a privilege to be able to contribute to their amazing work. Last month, we enjoyed a wonderful evening at Pendley Manor, Tring organised by the Hospice. The theme of the Ball was The Secret Garden, based upon the book of the same name by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The event was held to mark the 10th Anniversary of the opening of their facility in Spring Garden Lane, Berkhamsted. The invitations included a quote from the book; ‘And the secret garden bloomed and bloomed and every morning revealed new miracles,’ which couldn’t have been more appropriate for the occasion.
The Diamond Trust donated a £1,500 brilliant cut diamond to the raffle plus a voucher for £500 towards the cost of having it set into a piece of jewellery of the winner’s choice.
Congratulations to Amy and Bob, the lucky winners.
Thanks to Carolyn Addison and Amanda Stalham and the team for all the hard work that made their evening such a great success. £30,000 was raised for the hospice on the night.
